Training

NurseAge Concern Training has been delivering quality training services to customers over the past 50 years.

As the Training Division of Age Concern England‚ our mission is to maximise the role of Age Concern as providers of quality services which improve the quality of life for older people now and in the future.

We offer short open and in-house courses to people currently engaged in the care sector and longer term training to people who are employed or seeking employment.

Short open courses

Our wide variety of one and two day courses are open to people from any organisation or to individuals who wish to attend the training and pay for themselves. Popular topics include:

  • Dementia
  • Creative Activities
  • Basic Welfare Benefits
  • Protection of Vulnerable Adults
  • Modern Management in the Care Sector.

Open course prices range from £89 per day.

In-house staff training

All our training is also available for delivery in-house‚ or at a suitable venue of the customer's choice‚ for a group of staff (up to 20) from any organisation. The benefits of this service are:

  • cost-effective training for a group of staff
  • no need for you and your staff to travel
  • a wider range of courses‚ including Moving & Handling
  • special programmes and consultancy
  • training tailored to meet your specific requirements
  • weekend or evening training if you request it.
  • In-house training prices start at £699 per day per group of participants.

Special initiatives

Our training brochure also contains details of our special initiatives which include:

  • Pre Retirement Training for groups of retiring people from any type of organisation
  • Through Other Eyes sensory impairment simulation workshop 
  • Age Diversity in the Workforce for organisations who are keen to benefit from implementing the Government's Code of Practice on Age.

Longer term employment-related training

Thirteen Training Centres offer longer term training for people who are employed or seeking employment. These training services include:

  • Work based Learning for Adults and Young People
  • Foundation and Advanced Modern Apprenticeships
  • TDLB Awards - D32‚ D33‚ D34 & D36
  • New Deal Options

A wide range of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's) can be achieved through Age Concern Training. The qualifications we offer are:

  • Care - Levels I‚ II‚ III and IV
  • Administration - Levels I‚ II & III
  • Customer Service - Levels II & III
  • Retail - Levels II & III
  • Catering & Hospitality - Levels I & II
  • Distributive Operations - Level I
  • Early Years Care & Education - Levels II & III
  • Information Technology - Level I
