Age Concern and E.ON have worked in partnership for over 10 years. E.ON currently sponsors EnergyRight‚ a scheme where volunteers visit older people in their homes to offer information and advice on energy efficiency‚ as well as telling them about organisations who can give them access to all the related benefits they may be entitled to.

E.ON has invested significant resources into this project and is keen to use its energy expertise to provide energy solutions to vulnerable older people.

The project operates in the East Midlands‚ West Midlands‚ North West and Yorkshire and Humber regions.

What the project offers:

  • Friendly face-to-face advice during a FREE Home Energy Check
  • Referral to E.ON’s CaringEnergy for services include: advice on eligibility for free or discounted loft insulation and cavity wall insulation; benefits entitlement check; help getting on to your Priority Services Register‚ which provides password protection schemes‚ meter reading and free gas safety checks to eligible customers
  • Two free low-energy light bulbs
  • Free address book with information and advice about energy efficiency
  • Referral on to other Age Concern services
  • Guidance on how to apply for the Government’s Warm Front initiative‚ which offers grants for: hot-water-tank insulation; gas‚ electric or oil central heating and repairs; glass-fronted fires; and draught proofing
