The Time Capsule - Family Life

Immigration - 1951

I arrived by rail from Ireland in 1951
On June 7th. I began work in autos factory a week later.
I met and married a Staffordshire lass in 1956 and had 4 children, one of whom died when he was 12 years old from cancer in 1974.
My beautiful wife died also from cancer in 2000 and I’m still trying to come to terms with her loss.
My other children are all doing well and I have 5 lovely grandchildren.
This is a very simple tale and can't possibly tell all that has happened to my family in the intervening years. I would like to think that there are many more people out there who have similar tales and who are grateful to a generously minded people for their hospitality and generally good humored acceptance of an old Irishman
