The Time Capsule - How to..

A Cautionary Note About SPAM

After you've been using your account a little while you might find that advertisements start appearing in your message Inbox. Increasingly a large volume of e-mail users are bothered by the volume of SPAM or unsolicited junk e-mails which appear.

If you are ever unsure about a message the best idea is always to just delete it, and don't assume that just because it has been mailed to you that it is addressed to you specifically. Spammers send millions of e-mails in the vague hope that they'll hit a valid account.

If you respond to a spam e-mail - even if it's just to ask them to stop bothering you - it just confirms that your e-mail address is a valid one and the volume of junk mail is likely to increase. It is better to just delete them.
As long as you follow these few simple rules and use a little common sense there's nothing to worry about, and spam should prove little more than a minor irritation in the same way as the adverts for pizza parlours or double glazing which come through our letterboxes each day!
