I recently treated myself to a 10x zoom camera. I took this photo of our local trout farm[which is about 600mt. from where I live as the crow flies], at the same time and about the same place as the panorama. It must be well over a mile away from where I stood.

Same day - but about half a mile away

This was the area that " How Green was my Valley" was based on. Behind the tall stack stood the Six Bells hotel which was to become the Three Bells in the book and film.

I took this last week from about the same place as that house stood in the previous photo. The wooded area in the centre of the photo is where the collieries etc. used to be. I am 69 yr old and it was a bit of a struggle getting up that hill [the dreaded knee athritus]

This photo was taken about 1965/70after the collieries and railways were dismantled, the valley was devistated.

I took this panorama last week, This is the opposite end of the valley from where I took the shot off the mountain. Again, the wooded area in the centre of the valley was the most industrialized.
