The Time Capsule - 1940s

Tiger by the sea 1940s

Bertram Mills’s circus visited Skegness and Mum took me to see it.

I loved the animals, elephants, lions and tigers, what an exited little 3 year old girl I was! During the show a tigress was lead into the arena, no cage just a lead, a clown picked me up from my seat and placed me on its back. The tigress was lead round the arena with me on its back.  The memory of the animal’s fur on my hands and the warmth of its body - was I scared NO!
