The Time Capsule - 1940s

Penny Spitfires

My mother kept a glass dish on her dressing table.  It contained, among other thinks, a small metal plane.  Mother said it was given to her by a Polish airman who made it. While waiting to go into action the men would model these Spitfires from copper pennies.
