Boyhood 1936 on...

I was born in the town of Grantham in the county of Lincolnshire on the 29th September 1936.

My education consisted of the following schools:

 Spittlegate Boys School: 1946 -1951.
 Huntintower Scondary School: 1952
       Grantham College: 1952 - 1956

I served my apprenticeship in engineering at Ruston and Hornsby Limited from 1952 - 1957.

In 1957 I was called up for National Service for two years serving two years in the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment in the following countries: Malaya, Aden & Germany

I was demobbed in 1959 and finished my working career at the following engineering companies until my retirement in the year 2001: Ruston and Hornesby, Aveling and Barford & British Marco.
