Two edwardian boys in their best suits.
Up to the age of five both boys and girls in pre first world war times wore dresses. My own father, who was born in 1899, could remember running about in a dress at the age of three or four, getting it dirty ofcourse! This would be an economical way of dressing small children in the days of large families and when the sex of the unborn child was completely unknown.
