The Time Capsule - Stories

The Sun was Always Shining 1950s

I remember warm summers, freedom to have fun on our own adventure playground, bomb sites created by the raids on wartime Liverpool, the end of bread rationing and the introduction of the orange juice given out at the clinic. It was so sweet and strong, perhaps it is why I rarely have colds these days.

The fashion for girls was cardis, cotton dresses, white socks and the biggest bows sitting on top of your head like rabbit ears. I can still pick myself out of photos, my bow was bigger than everyone else’s! Happy days, although it was clouded by the loss of my lovely dad when I was 6 years old.
