Mother and Dad on holiday in Scarborough, in the 1920s. On holiday, people always dressed up and nearly everyone wore a hat. They are on a motor bike on the sands, not sure who the bike belonged to. It may have been a 'prop' for the photographer or it could have been Dad's. There were always photographers at the seaside waiting to snap people and they had various 'props' to use. At the end of the holiday you went to collect your photo's, usually from a kiosk on the 'front'. In those days a lot of men just got on the motor bike wearing their ordinary clothes and rode off. No crash helmets, riders liked to feel the wind through their hair, although most people wore goggles.
