Working nationally

We provide support and grants to local Age Concerns as well as direct services to older people.

Information and advice
We run a free national information line for older people‚ their families or carers on 0800 00 99 66.  It is open 365 days a year from 8am to 7pm. We also publish impartial and informative factsheets‚ detailed policy papers and a range of books.

Policy & campaigns
Our Public Affairs department raises awareness of the situation faced by many older people and keeps ageing issues in the public eye and in parliament.

We run campaigns to highlight issues such as low take up of benefits‚ age discrimination and poverty.  We also encourage older people to use computers and the Internet.

At the heart of our work is the idea that all older people should have the opportunity to be active members of society.  Our ActivAge programme does this through several innovative projects.

Products
Our trading arm Age Concern Enterprises provides products and services for older people‚ such as insurance and energy products.

Training
We run training courses aimed at those working with older people.
