Latest developments in transport policy include:

• Recent EU changes regarding the status of electric wheelchairs and scooters will make them eligible for customs duties, thus raising prices.
• The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is expected to publish new proposals on the notification of medical conditions shortly. Current requirements for drivers can be viewed on its webpages.
• Concessionary Bus Travel Act: We are represented on the stakeholder group which is being consulted on the implementation of nationwide bus passes. 
• Review of the Blue Badge scheme: Some changes to improve the scheme were announced in September as a result of the recent consultation. (View a summary of the consultation responses.)  The government is currently undertaking a new review with revised proposals expected by April 2008.
