Stamped Out? is Age Concern’s campaign to ensure that all older people have access to post office services. 
Initially the campaign fought to retain the rural subsidy. It then moved on to ensure the voices of older people were heard in the Government’s consultation about the future of the post office network -read our response.
Now the focus has moved to the areas and some Age Concerns are campaigning to retain post offices in their area. Many area plans have now been completed – find out about your area.
Currently some local authorities are considering providing postal services in their own facilities in some areas where post offices have closed. Essex Council is currently negotiating with Post Office Ltd to develop a model which could be used in these circumstances.
