Gordon Lishman‚ Director General of Age Concern‚ said:
 
“The creation of a new Digital Champion and an action plan are important steps towards in addressing the yawning digital divide in Britain.
 
“But this report clearly shows there is still a huge challenge ahead to meet the needs of older people‚ who represent over half of all digitally excluded people.
 
“Age Concern looks forward to working with the Government to ensure it makes older people a priority in forthcoming digital inclusion plans‚ so everyone can enjoy the benefits of the new digital age."
