Residents panels

Residents panelDo you want to make your voice heard?

Are you a resident in private retirement or sheltered housing?

Can you spare a few hours every three months?

Residents' Panels

AIMS now has two residents’ panels, one each for people living in leasehold or rented accommodation, to make sure older people's views are being heard and to discuss policy issues. You can be part of that process. The panels meet quarterly.

Members of the panel discuss a number of issues:

  • The services of the housing providers and ways to ensure that they embrace good practice and offer consistently high standards.
  • As AIMS is part of the formal Parliamentary consultation process, which takes place during the formation and enactment of housing-related legislation, we consult widely with residents to discuss issues arising from the Government's consultation papers and the impact and implementation of new legislation generally.
  • The services of AIMS and ways to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of residents in private retirement and sheltered housing.

Consultation Panel

If you are unable to attend meetings but are still interested in having your say, you might prefer to be a member of our consultation panel. We will send you our draft policy papers and good practice guidance in the comfort of your own home and then you can give us your comments.
