Avid fans of the Royal family eager to gain insights into the monarchy's notoriously closeted lifestyle will be able to learn a great deal more following the announcement that a new documentary will be launched next month.
The BBC programme‚ being mooted as the first 'royal-ity' programme of its kind‚ will offer viewers an insight into the life of the Queen over the course of a year.
Currently working under the title of The Monarchy‚ coverage will incorporate much of the Queen's 80th birthday celebrations as well as her opening of parliament.
According to Andy Goodsir‚ managing director of the programme creators HTI‚ the show will provide an "unprecedented insight into the way in which the monarch carries out not only her traditional constitutional roles‚ but also her duties as a modern head of state"‚ reports the BBC.
The programme follows the release of the award-winning Stephen Frears film The Queen earlier this year.
Starring Helen Mirren‚ the film depicts how the Royal Family dealt with the untimely death of Princess Diana in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
