Staying active

'Joy of Ageing' poetry competition winner Alexandra Wilde:

"I was inspired by the cover of an old edition of Esquire and I thought ‘Wouldn't it be great to have a glamorous grandma promoting a flash‚ macho-style car - why not?!’ - it would have to be a brilliant red‚ of course.

If there are any modelling scouts out there‚ I'm ready and waiting!"

I can just see me: seductively
Draped across a Jag (Type E) -
The epitome of every chap's desire -
On that cover of Esquire!

I only need half a chance
To lead those guys a merry dance;
To prove‚ although I may be older:
Oh‚ boy!  can I still smoulder!
