Tony Christie album review

Tony Christie leaning on piano

Tony Christie is a great example of having it all in later life‚ and to quote from one of the tracks on his new album‚ it still looks like he’s ‘only just begun’!

Living Room readers may well remember Tony’s first solo single ‘Life’s too good to waste’ released 40 years ago. But the timelessness of his music is apparent with songs like ‘Is this the way to Amarillo’ - a popular party classic across the generations.

The king of retro-cool‚ born in Yorkshire in 1943‚ has had a number of further successes over the last few years – most recently starring on the BBC’s ‘Just the two of us’.

Tony Christie album cover - simply in loveNow Tony Christie has released ‘Simply In Love’ - a collection of love songs dedicated to wife Sue for their 40th wedding anniversary.

His new album includes original covers of classics like ‘My funny Valentine’ and ‘Moon River’. It also promises a few surprises like David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars’ – sung in the distinctive Tony Christie style.
