Q. Why is Age Concern providing access to an Independent Financial Advice Service?
A. Many of our customers have contacted Age Concern asking where to get help with important financial issues such as advice on inheritance tax‚ investments and the cost of care. Age Concern is committed to helping out customers find answers to these questions.

Q. Why have we chosen to work with The Co-operative Independent Financial Advisers?
A. We have selected the Co-operative Independent Financial Advisers as they are experienced in offering a range of services to assist the over 50s.

Q. What is ‘whole of market advice’?
A. The Co-operative Independent Advisers will recommend all relevant products. They are not ‘tied’ to one product provider‚ giving you access to the whole financial services market place. Their advisers will work with you to make plans to meet your needs.

Q. Do I have to pay for this service?
A. Your first appointment is totally free.Your adviser will:
• Gather and analyse personal information about you‚ your finances‚needs‚ and objectives
• Provide you with a detailed report‚ with recommendations and actions you can take. If you want to proceed‚ the adviser will arrange the relevant investments on your behalf
• The fees for the service are usually covered by the commission income received from the product provider for placing the new business with them. This will all be explained to you by your adviser at the first meeting

Q. How do I find out more?
A. In conjunction with The Co-operative Independent Financial Advisers‚ we are holding a series of seminars throughout the United Kingdom. The seminars are free to attend‚ and will cover the issues and concerns such as:
• Inheritance tax rules
• How to ease the impact of personal tax
• Savings opportunities available
• Care fees planning
To attend one of these seminars please call 0845 685 1077 to book your place. You can bring a partner or friend with you‚ we will need their details to make sure there is room for everyone on the day.

Q. What if I can’t attend a seminar‚ but still want some help?
A. No problem‚ just call us on 0845 685 1077‚ we will be able to arrange for a Co-operative Independent Adviser to contact you to discuss your financial concerns.
