Our policy position

Strategies to promote good health and reduce health inequalities should address needs across the life course. These should include better targeted public health initiatives as well as services and public spaces which are designed to support health and wellbeing in later life.

Many health conditions associated with ageing receive inadequate attention and militate against active older age. Further research and practice development is needed to support services accommodating normal aspects of ageing such as sensory impairment‚ incontinence‚ cognitive impairment and factors contributing to risk of falling.
