Patsy Drysdale Grandparent of the Year Patsy Drysdale 70‚ from Stranraer‚ Scotland has been crowned best grandparent in Age Concern's Grandparent of the Year 2008 Awards in association with Specsavers. She was nominated by her 13 year old granddaughter Gina Drysdale who wanted to say thank you to to her amazing Nana.

Patsy will receive‚ courtesy of Specsavers:

£3‚000 to spend as she wishes
free eye and hearing care for the next ten years
eyecare vouchers to the value of £750
hearing care vouchers to the value of £2‚000

The National Finalists
The search for Age Concern Grandparent of the Year 2008 began September last year‚ we received hundreds of nominations from hopeful grandchildren telling us about their wonderful grandparents. From the many worthy entries we had the difficult task of selecting thirteen regional winners and finally choosing our five national finalists.

We hold the Grandparent of the Year Award because grandparents are central to family life and support their grandchildren in many different ways. Grandparent of the Year gives grandchildren the chance to say thank you for all the love and care that they receive from their grandparents.
