Frequently asked questions and answers

Q. What if I want to take out a plan for someone else?
A. Yes it is simple to take out a plan for someone else.  You just have to indicate this on the application form

Q. What if I die before my installment payments are completed?
A. Yes‚ the arrangements and price guarantees still remain in place providing that the person arranging your funeral pays the remaining monthly payments in full to Age Concern Funeral Plan at the time of the funeral.

Q. What if something happens to Age Concern? What happens to my money?
A. You money is kept in a independent Trust Fund‚ that is separately and expertly managed by M&G investment management Ltd part of the Prudential Group.  An annual report is always available and you can obtain a copy by simply calling 0800 917 1929 at anytime.

Q. What if I want to change the arrangements?
A. You can do so at any time‚ simply by calling the number that we will include in your Membership Pack.

Q. How will my family or Executor know what to do in the event of my death?
A. The Membership Pack you will receive when you take out a Plan contains a special Executors Pack with a duplicate copy of your arrangements to pass on to a family member‚ friend or your Executor. It will give them all the details and tell them exactly what to do and what number to call in the event of your death. When the time comes it will take one phone call to Age Concern Funeral Plan to activate your Plan.

Q. Can I have a refund?
A. Yes‚ unlike other similar policies‚ our Funeral Plans provide a refund if you change your mind. If you cancel your Plan within 28 days you will receive a full refund of the money you have paid. After this time‚ a cancellation fee of £95 will be deducted from the money refunded. This is to cover various administration charges and means that‚ as a Plan holder‚ you will be protected against having to pay for other people cancelling.

Q. What if I wish to add services to my Plan?
A. We can arrange to add additional services (such as an extra limousine) to your Plan and we will advise you of the costs. You can do this at any time.

Q. What if death occurs away from home‚ perhaps when visiting friends or relatives or on a holiday in the Great Britain?
A. All the Plans include transport from anywhere in the Great Britain to the Nominated Funeral Director local to your place of residence

Q. What if death occurs away from home‚ perhaps when visiting friends or relatives or on a holiday outside Great Britain?
A. We suggest you take out Travel Insurance to cover repatriations.  Once your body is in Great Britain we will transport your body to anywhere in the Great Britain to the Nominated Funeral Director local to your place of residence.
