Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards has made the shock admission that he once snorted his father's ashes.
The 63-year-old guitarist‚ known for his past excesses and substance abuse‚ told music magazine NME that he had snorted the ashes mixed with cocaine after his father had been cremated.
In an interview to be released in full today‚ Richards told the magazine: "The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father."
According to the report‚ the star's father‚ Bert‚ died in 2002 at the age of 84.
"He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow‚" the original wild man of rock added‚ before insisting that his father wouldn't have minded his bizarre behaviour.
"It went down pretty well‚ and I'm still alive‚" Richards joked.
As well as revealing how his dead father literally got up his nose‚ Richards refuted reports that he underwent emergency head surgery after falling out of a tree in Fiji last year‚ claiming that he had actually been sitting on a "shrub" at the time of the accident.
The veteran rocker also made it clear that he was at ease with his own mortality‚ saying that he was "disappointed" to have been excluded from the 'most likely to die' list after holding a spot in the morbid ratings for ten years.
