Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have reportedly vowed to end the acrimonious scenes that have plagued their divorce proceedings for the sake of their daughter.
The claim comes after the 64-year-old former Beatle and his estranged wife were seen chatting at a central London restaurant on Friday while three-year-old daughter Beatrice played.
"They sat there chatting away – everyone was astonished‚ especially considering how bitterly they've fought over their divorce‚" an onlooker told the News of the World.
"When they left they were side by side and seemed very friendly."
Such a meeting would have been unthinkable since the couple announced last year they were splitting up after four years of marriage.
But the News of the World quotes a source as saying the pair have "vowed to get along for Bea' sake".
As part of the rumoured truce‚ Mills is thought to have been invited to Sir Paul's 65th birthday party next month‚ while the former model‚ 39‚ has promised to stall her planned career in the US.
"They were becoming really worried that their rows and the tension between them would have an emotional effect on [Beatrice]‚" a source added to the Sunday tabloid.
