Help us to make Council Tax fair

Since the introduction of the Council Tax in 1993‚ Council Tax bills have increased by 114%‚ more than three times the rate of inflation and almost double the increase in average earnings.

In 2004-05‚ 68% of pensioner households depended on state pensions and benefits for at least 50% of their income.

It is vital older people receive Council Tax Benefit and any other help they are entitled to. The Government must make the reform of the Council Tax Benefit system a priority.
