In July 2000, those sharing the name Age Concern and a commitment to a common purpose and values came together to work in a federation. This brings together independent charities in a structure which reflects their independence and autonomy but also their interdependence.
We believe that working together in partnership means that we can promote and deliver a better quality of life for all older people. All federation Members work to a quality assurance system which ensures quality in all we do with and for all older people. We also work to fulfil our federation Strategy.
We work together locally, regionally and nationally.
Age Concerns are very diverse, ranging from large Organisations working across whole Counties with many activities and services, to very small Groups that meet once a week to run a lunch club, and rely entirely on volunteers.
Age Concern England, as the national Member, supports and works with local Age Concerns, as well as providing leadership in areas like campaigning and policy.
Quality CountsQuality Counts is our quality framework which every Age Concern belonging to the federation reports against.
