Disasters Emergency Committee Congo (DR) Crisis Appeal

A young boy flees from renewed fighting in Kibati‚ 5km north of the provincial capital Goma‚ in the Democratic Republic of Congo‚ 7 November 2008. He had no family with him‚ and said that he hadn’t seen his mother or father for several days. He didn’t answer when asked his name. Many children have been placed with foster families while attempts are made to trace their own family.

The DEC Congo(DR) Crisis Appeal will be open for donations until end May 2009. All appeal money received within the six months from the start of the appeal is restricted to the purpose of that appeal and would not be transferred. Any money received after six months goes to the next appeal fund.
