Age Concern launches free interactive guide to help tomorrow's pensioners live their retirement dream (02.03.08)

Millions of people are reaching their forties and fifties with higher expectations of retirement than any generation before them. Yet with government figures showing that 7 million people are still not saving enough for retirement,1 the reality for many could fall well short of their dream.

To help people plan ahead for the retirement they want, Age Concern has developed MoneyTrail – an innovative new tool to help people work out what their retirement income will be, whether it will pay for the lifestyle they want, and what they can do about it if it the numbers don’t add up.

The interactive CD-Rom is a unique, interactive program designed to give people a step-by-step guide to planning their retirement finances, by:

  • Working out how much income they will need for the lifestyle they want in retirement
  • Calculating the level of income they are on track to receive in retirement and how this matches up to the level of income needed
  • Exploring the options for getting on track if there is a shortfall between the expectation and the reality
