Our response to the House Of Lords granting leave to appeal to Mr Rutherford and Mr Bentley (11.02.05)

Gordon Lishman‚ Director General of Age Concern England said:

“We are delighted for Mr Rutherford and Mr Bentley‚ who continue to fight long and hard to have their rights upheld. This judgement will have given hope to the hundreds of older workers who still have cases pending.

“Age should not be a factor in determining people’s rights as employees. It is deplorable to see so many people having to defend their right to work simply because of their date of birth.”
