Age Concern sponsors Care of Older People category

Age Concern, the largest organisation in the UK working for older people, will join the panel of judges selecting the winners of The Guardian Public Services Awards 2007.

One of the entry categories under Service Delivery is the Care of Older People award. This award, which is sponsored by Age Concern, will highlight the best practice in care, support or empowerment of older generations.

Gordon Lishman, Director General of Age Concern, said: "Our expertise in the care of older people stems from our work in providing services and speaking out for older people. Care services are under huge pressure from cuts in spending, but many are still delivering quality services that are making a huge difference to older people."

The deadline for entries is Friday July 20 and winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on November 27 in London. More details can be found at:
